It’s officially December and you know what that means – Let the Christmas Shenanigans begin! Christmas time is definitely one of my favorite times of the year and since our little clan is still developing new family traditions every year still feels so fresh and new. I love the nostalgia, the music, the decor, the scents, and of course, the egg nog! And although I am not huge on decorating for the holidays (I’m still working on my DIY skills), I love everything that it represents and seeing others find creative ways to decorate too. It’s so fun to see the beautiful Christmas lights began to appear around the city after Thanksgiving, the ornately decorated Christmas trees, and all of the beautiful department store holiday displays. Ahh! It all really does make me feel like a kid again to show it all to Connor!
And this week to kick off our Holiday festivities Hubby, Connor and I paid a visit to a local Botanical Garden (and Boutique) called Roger’s Gardens. It was our first visit and it turned out to be the perfect place to spend an afternoon away from my home office exploring locally sourced and seasonal blooms. (This have been an obsession of mine as of late) They also house a beautiful lot of fresh christmas trees to choose from this time of year and a number of stunning Holiday displays. You can find everything here from from ornaments, indoor and outdoor holiday arrangements, collectibles and (my favorite) pre-made fresh wreaths!
As if being somewhere beautiful, outdoors, and with my family wasn’t enough, I left totally inspired with so many ideas on how to incorporate more simple, fresh and eco-friendly decor into our lives during the holidays. What a nature girl’s dream! – I can definitely see us coming back here around the holidays and throughout the year. What are some of your holiday/decor traditions?
