Currently Loving: Patched & Pin Worked Jackets

It’s a new year and I have so much that I would like to share with you all here. After launching Granaway last fall I took a little break from blogging because I felt so creatively drained with all the excitement and challenges of starting a new business. Now that I’ve gotten into the swing of things, I have an even clearer sense of my voice as a person, blogger, parent, and (most recently) as an entrepreneur. This post, the first of many of a new series called ‘Currently Loving’ is a piece of that. It’s my version of “Friday Fav’s!” — A simple way to share my current style and decor obessisons. So let’s jump right in!

Patched & Pinned Jackets

I am definitely currently loving patched & pin worked jackets! It’s a little trend I’ve seen around the past few months of (mostly) denim, bomber, or even leather jackets with iron-on style patches or enamel push pins on them. They are a fun and cute way to express a sense personal style and creativity. Whether they be store bought or diy’ed (like this one I did for Connor), it’s no matter. There are so many ways to put personal touches on this trend and I love that Women, Men, and Children can rock them alike.

Here’s a little peak into how I created Connors, some amazing shops where you can find unique pins/ patches, and where you can order some dope ready-made (pre-pinned or pre-patched) ones.

I’m a minimalist at heart and I really wanted to create a look that was playful, young, yet very classy for Connor’s denim jacket. The idea is to create an organized cluster. And I played with the scale and placement of the patches before ironing them on. I’d say this mission was totally accomplished! And the beauty of it all is that we can always add more to it if we’d like or even as we visit cool new places that sell them.

I found a number of iron-on patches at a local fabric store and got this inexpensive classic denim jacket from Carters. I then layered the look with these amazing ‘Pintrill’ Emoji Pins from Madewell. If you want, you can go all patches or all pins. I personally just liked the idea of doing both.

Lets Kids and Target have some super cute ready-made patched jackets for kids. And New York & Company and Zara has some sweet ready-made denim and bomber jackets for Adults. I am also really loving the Self-Care themed enamel pins by Alex Elle & ‘Melanin Thoughtfulness’ Brooches/Pins by DorcasCreates in the UK. The Madewell food and hashtag themed ones are so super fun too! I would also recommend Etsy for any sort of iron-on patches for a diy jacket.

Well there you have it! I would love to see pics of any of your Diy jackets. Feel free to share with me via Pinterest or Instagram!

Take Care,

Brittany
